Tiger Time!!!!

It's Tiger time in Memphis! Our whole family loves Memphis basketball, so we ALL went downtown for Memphis Madness. It's kind of like a peprally before the season starts. Kinley didn't have any tiger clothing this year, she's outgrown it all. So I thought I'd make a simple little Memphis dress for her. Word traveled fast, and before you knew it, we decided it would be so much fun if all the girls dressed alike! Glad these dresses were easy! I offered to make Jackson a matching shirt, ha ha. He graciously declined :)

We had a yummy dinner at Flying Fish surrounded by a ton of folks in blue and gray :) Then we hiked over the the Forum and waited in the crowd for a while before they opened the doors. We entertained ourselves with taking lots of pictures. See below!

Clown Day!

Kinley is at a new Preschool this year, and I've got to tell ya, I love this program! Don't get me wrong, I loved her old one, too. But her new one is at a high school, run by high school students (with a teacher, of course!) and is so well organized! The students have so many creative ideas and the preschoolers get one on one attention. And because the tuition isn't paying someone's salary, it's all at a fraction of the cost! Seriously, can't say enough good things about her class.
Anyway, each week they focus on a different letter and number. The third week was "C" and circus week! They had cotton candy, sno cones, hot dogs for snacks and all dressed up as clowns.

"This heart is for you, Mommy". Love her.

Kallen was jealous, so we painted her face a bit, too!

Cutesy!

Here she is with her best buds, Carson and Ella. We didn't have a costume, but I have a ton of that purple/orange fabric so I made a little top, found some cute stripey pants at Target, and some colorful Christmas garland for the top and her hair. Voila!

Happy Clown Day!

Pink Palace Crafts Fair

I am trying to get caught up! We've done so many fun things this fall, I've fallen behind!
Connie and her girls decided to take a Field Trip to the Crafts Fair and invited us to tag along. I had never been before, we had such a great time!

Poor Kallen, she was barely out of the car and ran and fell on that gravel and scraped up her leg :( She cried briefly and then never complained again. Trooper!
The girls were fascinated by this man making brooms. Me, too!

Sweet girls!
L to R: Kallen, Lucy, Olivia, and Kinley

I've already forgotten what this man was making...but I'm sure it was great! At least Livy and Lucy thought so!

Operating the loom

Rocking on the handmade rocking animals! Almost had to drag Kinley off ;)

Train ride, of course.

Kallen was all smiles for the petting zoo!

Kinley liked to check out all the animals and then decide which one she wanted to feed.

Hitching a ride back to the cars after face painting and some yummy lemonade.
Thanks for inviting us!! We had a blast!!

My Princess!

Kinley's best friend, Ella, and her sweet family invited Kinley to go to Disney on Ice this year. They had great seats close to the front and wanted all the girls to dress up. Kinley was so excited and had a great time. She has continued to tell me all sorts of random things about her big night!

Waiting for her carriage to arrive :)

I've been told that Kinley watched every bit of the show, very intently, taking it all in. She brought home the cutest little Tinkerbell cup and some great memories! Maybe next year we'll go and take Princess Kallen, too. Thanks, Acton's!!!

It's Official!

It's official! Kallen is a big girl with a big girl bed (sniff).

Her crib converted into a full size bed, so technically, I still have a crib in the house :) But it makes for a really tall bed, so we decided she needed steps, too. I have always thought beds with steps were the coolest!

Kallen thinks so, too! "I wove (love) my big bed, Mommy!"

The big girls approve, too! We had to move her letters, though. One day during naptime, I heard a loud cry. I entered the room to find Kallen sitting on the bed with the letter "A" hanging around her neck and all the others scattered about her bed. Forget the scarlet letter, try the polka-dotted letter! She didn't get out of the bed, though!

We told Kallen that when the steps were by her bed, she was allowed to go up and down as she wished. But when the steps are gone at night and at nap time, she's to stay in her bed. She said, "Okay" and stayed right in her bed. What a good girl! It took some extra hugs and rocking chair time to convince her to stop crying and sleep those first couple of nights, but she adjusted quickly. She does still (over a month into having her big bed) sleep sideways as seen above. She insists on turning her pillow around and sleeping next to the headboard. We think it reminds of sleeping in her crib :) Sweet.

It's Fall, Y'all!!

It's fall, which means Kinley's first team sport, Soccer! She's been dying to play since she was 2 and was watching her cousins play. She can kick a ball like no other, and has been begging for a team shirt as well.
Off to the first game!

"I got your waterbottle, Sissy!"

"Ready, set, kick!"

Kallen's trying to hatch the soccer ball :)

What a goalie :)

Kallen takes a turn during halftime with Daddy

Kinley is definitely not the most aggressive kid on the field, but she loves playing and sure looks cute out there! I'm hoping she inherited her daddy's athletic abilities, but... Let's just say she hasn't really even kicked a ball (when other kids are around) yet. Each game she warms up a little more. We'll let ya know at the end of the season!!

First Day!

Kinley had her first day of school and Kallen her first day at Kids Day Out

So proud of her back pack!

Miss Amber shows Kinley where to hang her backpack!
Both girls had a great day and were excited to go back. I am so thankful for their great schools and teachers!
